Lia Bonagura-Transue was born and raised in New York City to artist parents. She attended the now famous High School of Music & Art in NYC, studied Design at the California Institute of the Arts and completed her formal education in Illustration and Painting at the Academy of Art in San Francisco.
Using her design and illustration background, Lia paints figures, objects, landscapes, and architecture bathed in color and light. Working primarily in oil on canvas and using scale and perspective to engage the viewer, the objective of her paintings is to idealize the ordinary, exploring and accentuating "real life" without compromising the imagination.
Currently, Lia is working on gallery shows and commissioned paintings.
